An Administrative Staff Performance Management System was created in order for the administrative staff members to be led and managed in accordance with the aims and strategies relating to the institutions future. This system aims to assess the performance of Beykent University’s administrative staff members on an objective basis in order to support the career management, improve the productivity of the staff, and increase the success level of the University in the administrative units.

The Training in PDP Awareness was aimed to provide the staff with basic information on the PDP Law, raise awareness of personal data protection within the institution, enable the staff to take the administrative and technical measures as set out in the PDP Law on behalf of the data controller, and the points to be considered during data processing activities were discussed in the training session. Unit meetings on inventory works and document control were held before the Training in PDP Awareness. Subsequently, a general assessment and closing meeting with participation of all the administrative and academic units.

Within the framework of the Technology Transfer Office’s Project Training given by Asst. Prof. Ceren Türkcan and Asst. Prof. Ömer Işık, projects and project contents of different institutions were reviewed, and the points to consider while writing a project, importance of planning, creating a team, goal-oriented planning of the needs, determining the current infrastructure, planning the work-time schedule, success criteria, risk management, budget planning, project outcomes and sharing were expressed in the training session. Additionally, the calls due to the COVID-19 and guidelines for uploading projects to the system were discussed in the training.

To improve the administrative staff members’ Excel knowledge and support the Excel Training held in the last academic year, SmartPro Computer Academy organised an “Advanced Excel Training” for our administrative staff within the scope of the 2018 - 2019 Training Plan. Administrative staff members who succeeded in the exam held at the end of the trainings were awarded a training completion certificate.

The “Empathy Orientation Programme” is an in-house development programme in which the administrative staff members participate to become aware of the duties and responsibilities of other units/ unit personnel. The programme aims to allow the staff to acquire an understanding of current practices other than the institutional activities and their works, gain a wide experience, see the big picture, have knowledge of the key points of other departments, understand their colleagues better, be more aware of the organisational changes, and improve the in-house communication. The Empathy Orientation lays the groundwork for a happier and more productive working environment by improving the institutional culture and the tolerant environment. As of 4 February 2019, the programme is held for 2 full days. The programme aims to develop a solution-oriented approach to the internal and external stakeholders, and more effective communication and collaboration. The programme also aims to improve harmony and institutional culture. The intended success of the programme is understood from the feedbacks.

To improve the administrative staff members’ English knowledge, an “Online English Training” for our administrative staff was provided within the scope of the 2018 - 2019 Training Plan. Held in collaboration with Beykent University’s School of Foreign Languages, the programme offers live and asynchronous courses via ALMS (Distance Learning Management System). To increase the efficiency of the programme, a placement test was administered to assess the staff members’ English level, and they were divided into classes based on their level groups. The programme took place online but offered face-to-face training every two weeks.

System Administrator Training in Process and Performance Management System (Ensemble) was given by Bimser Software Solutions.

SmartPro Computer Academy organised an “Advanced Excel Training” for our administrative staff within the scope of the 2018 Training Plan.

A “Process Management Training” for our administrative staff was given by Dolunay Academy Education and Consultancy at our University.

Module Based End User and System Administrator Training in Quality Management System (QDMS), of which the implementation process was completed, was given by Bimser Software Solutions at our Ayazağa-Maslak and Büyükçekmece Campuses.

System Administrator Training in Process and Management System (Ensemble), of which the implementation process was completed, was given by Bimser Software Solutions.

A “QMS Awareness Training” was given by Dolunay Academy Education and Consultancy at our University to raise awareness and perception of quality.

An “Internal Auditor Training” was given to 10 of our staff members by Burea Veritas. All of the 10 staff member succeeded in the training and awarded a Certificate of Internal Auditor and become eligible to be internal auditors.
